About me!

I've been interested in snakes since I was a little kid. Since the moment I began keeping them in 1989, snakes became a passion of mine. Before I started keeping venomous species I've kept many non-venomous species of snakes for more than twelve years.

I have studied for 8 years in Leeuwarden. My first study was environment technology. The second study was Art and Design at the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden. My profession is graphic designer.

I live together with my girlfriend (Maria Elsy, born in 1980 in Colombia) since 2000. By this opportunity I would like to thank her (and my parents Folkert and Tjammie van der Ploeg) for supporting and allowing me to keep (venomous) snakes.

At the moment I type this page I keep over a 50 specimens of snakes. But that changes by time (It depends on the results of breeding).
